Impact of COVID-19 pandemic on Commercial real estate performance: What the MSCI South Africa Property Index Results show

2020 was a year of unprecedented disruption resulting in muted economic growth and activity. Pervasive geo-political risk and socio-economic challenges were exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Global and local restrictions on daily social and economic activity resulted in a quantum shift away from the conventional uses of commercial real estate. The December 2020 MSCI South Africa Annual Property Index results will showcase the impact on commercial real estate performance in South Africa and beyond.
