Building sustainable and predictable projects creates a win-win situation for all stakeholders. When it comes to Africa, we need to appreciate its wealth of mineral resources - specifically, oil, gas and coal. These resources are the fuels that keep the gears of the continent turning. Oil and gas remain a key component in the energy mix for the African continent. If you take a single glance at the current oil price, you'll understand why alternative energy is a growing option. The transition to renewable energy for Africa may not be as easy as flicking a switch. Some may see it as a threat to a sector that has kept the heart of the continent beating. That’s why, at this year’s Africa Oil week (AOW), we’ll explore how building sustainable and predictable projects create a win-win situation for all stakeholders. We will take a deep-dive into the economic benefits and the opportunity it presents for Africa to develop in a sustainable way, and how that could paint a very optimistic picture. AOW is an oil and gas upstream conference dedicated to oil exploration and production in Africa. AOW has the core mandate to stimulate upstream deals and transactions, drive foreign investment into African projects and facilitate new partnerships and networking opportunities. Entering its 27th year, the event brings together governments, national and international oil companies, independents, investors, the geophysical community and service providers. The conference is being held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates from the 8th to the 11th of November 2021.
