Enabling flexible capital to support aircraft and engine leasing and connectivity across global markets

Across regional and global aviation markets, demand for flexible fleet solutions continues to grow as operators adapt to changing routes, capacity needs and economic conditions.

ACIA Aero Leasing (“ACIA”) is expanding its portfolio to meet this demand, by providing aircraft and engine leasing solutions to operators globally, including  Africa. With a diversified fleet and presence across multiple jurisdictions, the business plays a key role in supporting regional connectivity.

To support this growth, Absa Corporate and Investment Banking partnered with ACIA to structure a combined $37 million bespoke aircraft acquisition and maintenance RCF and engine leasing facility . Designed around a tranche-based structure, the RCF aligns closely with ACIA’s operating model allowing ACIA to purchase off-lease aircraft which are then refurbished before being placed on lease to airlines globally. The engine facility supports ACIA’s growth in engine leasing.

This approach preserves liquidity, reduces execution risk and creates a clear pathway for future long-term financing opportunities for ABSA. In turn, it positions ACIA to scale its operations sustainably while supporting their airline customers, strengthening regional connectivity and advancing aviation growth across Africa and beyond.
