The issuance supports the Group’s broader funding strategy, including funding efficiency, investor diversification and general corporate purposes. The auction attracted R3.466 billion in bids from institutional investors and was 3.15 times oversubscribed, reflecting strong market participation in Lewis Group’s credit profile and supporting its access to diversified sources of capital. As Joint Lead Arranger, Absa provided debt capital markets execution, syndication capability and institutional investor access. The transaction builds on an 18-year banking relationship with Lewis Group and reflects the role of long-term partnerships in supporting sustainable funding outcomes for South African businesses.
