GHPH is a specialist healthcare real estate fund with more than R10 billion in assets under management across hospitals, healthcare facilities and senior living assets. The acquisition of Auria Senior Living expands the fund’s investment mandate and positions it to meet increasing demand for senior living accommodation and healthcare-related services in South Africa. Acting as Mandated Lead Arranger, Original Lender, Hedge Counterparty, Facility Agent and Bridge Loan Provider, Absa structured and supported a R1.7 billion acquisition and refinance package to which we contributed R765 million to the transaction. The acquisition delivers significant social impact by supporting access to quality accommodation, healthcare and wellness services for South Africa’s ageing population. Auria’s portfolio includes four senior living communities accommodating more than 900 residents through independent living units and dedicated care facilities. The transaction reflects Absa’s commitment to empowering Africa’s tomorrow, together…one story at a time. By financing healthcare and senior living, we are enabling investments that enhances quality of life, strengthen resilient communities and support sustainable economic growth.
